Shipping & Acquisition Policy

Last updated: 30 August 2026

Original paintings, individual delivery arrangements and your rights when acquiring a work by Bruno Pinho.

1. The artwork and its acquisition

Every painting offered on this website is an original, unique piece by Bruno Pinho. It is a physical artwork, not a print, reproduction or digital file. The artwork page identifies its title, dimensions and medium.

Each work is offered for a single successful purchase. Payment is processed securely through its existing Stripe Checkout. Opening a checkout does not reserve the work; availability is confirmed through successful payment. Once payment is confirmed, the work is marked as sold, its price and acquisition link are removed, and its page remains in the exhibition archive.

Please provide your full name, email, telephone number, billing address and complete delivery address, including country, accurately at checkout. These details are needed to manage your acquisition and arrange delivery.

2. Artwork price and separate shipping costs

Artwork prices are stated in euros (EUR). The amount displayed for the painting and charged at checkout is the price of the artwork only. Shipping / delivery is not included.

Shipping is calculated individually after purchase, taking into account the artwork’s size, destination, protective packaging or crating, insurance and the transport method and handling requirements. There is no standard worldwide shipping charge.

After purchase, I will contact you using the details provided with the proposed delivery arrangement and its applicable cost. You will receive this proposal before dispatch. No additional delivery charge will be taken automatically or without your agreement. You are welcome to enquire about delivery before purchasing.

3. Agreeing delivery, collection or transport

Dispatch will be arranged only after the delivery method, cost and relevant timing have been agreed. Artworks require appropriate protection and handling. Any indicative timing depends on packaging, the destination and transport availability; mandatory delivery rights and deadlines remain unaffected.

Personal collection or transport arranged by the buyer may be possible by prior agreement. Please contact me before arranging a collection or appointing a carrier, so that access, packaging, insurance and a suitable handover can be coordinated.

If you do not accept the proposed shipping cost and no reasonable alternative delivery or collection arrangement can be agreed before dispatch, you may request cancellation of the artwork purchase and a refund. Please email bruno@pinho.com.pt. A refund will be arranged through the original payment method, unless another method is expressly agreed, without restricting any statutory refund entitlement.

4. International deliveries

Deliveries outside the relevant customs territory may attract import duties, local taxes, customs-clearance fees or other charges imposed by the destination authorities or carrier. Unless expressly included in an agreed proposal, these are not part of the artwork price or shipping quotation and may be payable by the buyer where permitted by law.

Please check the rules applicable at your destination. Customs procedures may affect delivery timing. Any allocation of costs or risk remains subject to mandatory consumer law.

5. Arrival, inspection and transport damage

Please inspect the packaging and artwork on arrival. If there is visible damage, record it with the carrier where possible, take clear photographs of the packaging and artwork, retain the packaging, and contact bruno@pinho.com.pt as soon as reasonably possible. Prompt documentation helps establish what happened and supports any transport or insurance claim.

This request for prompt notification does not create a shorter legal deadline, make carrier paperwork a condition of your rights, or remove remedies for damage discovered later. Where mandatory consumer law applies, responsibility for the work during delivery and the transfer of risk are determined by that law, including any specific rules for a carrier independently commissioned by the buyer.

6. Withdrawal, returns and refunds

Where applicable EU and Portuguese distance-selling rules apply, consumers normally have 14 days from the day they, or a designated third party other than the carrier, receive the artwork to notify withdrawal from the purchase without giving a reason. To exercise this right, send a clear statement to bruno@pinho.com.pt identifying yourself and the purchase. Withdrawal does not require my prior approval.

The fact that a painting is original or unique does not, by itself, remove this right. The legal exception for goods made to a consumer’s specifications or clearly personalised does not automatically apply to an existing unique artwork.

After notifying withdrawal, the work must normally be returned within a further 14 days. Contact me promptly to coordinate the return address, appropriate protective packaging and suitable transport for a fragile or valuable artwork. Coordination is requested for safety and does not restrict a valid withdrawal or its statutory time limits.

For a change-of-mind withdrawal, the consumer bears direct return costs only where legally applicable and properly disclosed before purchase. Return transport may depend on the same size, destination, packaging and insurance factors as outward delivery. For a work that cannot normally be returned by post, please ask for an estimate before purchasing; costs not disclosed as legally required will not be imposed on you. Different rules may apply to defective, damaged or incorrectly supplied works.

Where required by law, refunds include the artwork price and any original standard delivery charge paid, excluding the extra cost of a more expensive delivery option selected by the buyer. Refunds are normally due within 14 days of withdrawal notification; where the law permits, reimbursement may be withheld until the artwork is returned or evidence of its return is supplied, whichever occurs first. Refunds use the original payment method unless expressly agreed otherwise, without a refund fee.

You may inspect the work as reasonably necessary to establish its nature and characteristics. Any responsibility for diminished value caused by handling beyond what is necessary is limited to what the law permits. Statutory remedies for non-conformity, damage or other defects are separate from a change-of-mind withdrawal.

7. Mandatory consumer rights

Nothing in this policy excludes, limits or replaces mandatory rights under applicable Portuguese, EU or other consumer law, including rights relating to information, delivery, withdrawal, conformity, returns and refunds. If any provision conflicts with a mandatory legal right, that legal right prevails.
